Radio-Controlled Accuracy

The Lorell 60997 is a round digital wall clock that receives a daily signal to match the atomic clock, accurate to one second per million years. It automatically adjusts for Daylight Saving Time and is designed for use in the continental United States. The display features a white dial with black Arabic numerals under a tempered glass cover.

Battery Operation & Regional Limits

This clock suits anyone who wants a hands-free, precision timepiece for a home or office without manual setting. It runs on a single AA battery, so no wiring or outlet is required. Buyers outside the continental United States or in areas with poor radio reception should consider a different clock, as the automatic sync function will not work reliably.

Atomic Sync Capability

The defining specification is the radio-controlled movement that synchronises with the atomic clock standard each day. This feature removes the need for manual time changes and guarantees long-term accuracy without user intervention. If automatic daily calibration is not a priority, a standard quartz clock will serve the same basic purpose.

Questions about this item

Should I choose the radio-controlled version or a manual-set clock?

The radio-controlled version syncs daily to the atomic clock signal, keeping time accurate to one second per million years and adjusting automatically for Daylight Saving Time, while a manual-set clock requires you to change it yourself.

What does "accurate to one second per million years" mean for daily use?

It means the clock will not visibly drift during its lifetime; you will never need to correct the time because the daily signal from the atomic clock keeps it virtually perfect.

Does the clock use Wi-Fi or Bluetooth to receive the time signal?

No, it uses a built-in radio receiver tuned to the WWVB broadcast used in the continental United States, so it needs no network setup or pairing.
