Right Pedestal Desk for L-Shaped Layouts

The Lorell 66947 is a single-pedestal desk built for business, government and educational offices. It belongs to the Fortress Series and is designed to pair with a Fortress left return to create an L-shaped workstation. A box/file pedestal on the right provides secure storage with locking drawers that accept letter-size files.

Steel Frame With Scratch-Resistant Oak Laminate

The 1-1/8" thick top uses an Oak laminate surface rated as scratch-resistant, stain-resistant and water-resistant. A reinforced, double-frame inner structure keeps the desk solid under rigorous daily use. Both drawers operate on full-extension, ball-bearing slides with integrated pulls, and the unit meets or exceeds ANSI/BIFMA standards.

Cord Management and Locking Features

A center grommet routes cables neatly through the worksurface. The center drawer includes a core-removable lock, while both pedestal drawers lock independently for document security. The 3/4-height modesty panel maintains a clean visual line when the desk is joined with a left return.

Questions about this item

How do I attach the Fortress left return to create the L-shaped layout?

Align the return with the right pedestal edge, use the pre-drilled holes and included hardware to bolt the two units together, then verify the 3/4-height modesty panels sit flush.

Which drawer components will need lubrication or replacement after heavy daily use?

The ball-bearing slides on the box and file drawers and the core-removable lock cylinder on the centre drawer are the only moving parts that may require periodic grease or a new cylinder.

At what point does the Oak laminate top show wear from continuous writing and equipment placement?

The scratch-resistant, stain-resistant and water-resistant laminate is rated to meet ANSI/BIFMA durability tests, so surface degradation typically appears only after years of sustained abrasion.
