Desk protection for hard floors

The Lorell 69167 chairmat shields hard flooring from caster wear and scuffs. Its clear vinyl surface shows the floor beneath while the straight edge gives a clean perimeter. The mat measures 45 by 53 inches with a 25 by 12 inch lip that tucks under the desk. Sold as a single unit.

Vinyl construction limits

Vinyl performs well on hard floors but is not designed for carpeted surfaces where studs would be needed for grip. The material can develop permanent indentations under very heavy static loads over time. Edges may curl if the mat is rolled tightly for storage. No adhesive layer is included.

Lip dimensions decide fit

The 25 by 12 inch lip must match the desk cut-out or the mat will not sit flush. Buyers with wider desk openings or no lip requirement should choose a different size. The straight edge offers no wrap-around protection for L-shaped configurations.

Questions about this item

Should I pick the 45" x 53" mat with the 25" x 12" lip or a smaller size for my desk?

Choose the 45" x 53" mat with the 25" x 12" lip when your desk footprint and chair roll zone fit within those dimensions; the lip slides under the desk to protect the area beneath your seat.

How does the 45" x 53" vinyl surface hold up to daily rolling on a hard floor?

The vinyl construction resists scuffs and caster wear while the studded backing grips the floor so the mat stays flat during everyday use.

Does the straight edge and studded backing work on hardwood or tile without sliding?

Yes, the straight edge lies flush against the desk and the studded backing anchors the mat on hard floors such as wood, laminate or tile.
