Lateral file with lock and anti-tip

The Lorell 69399 is a mahogany laminate lateral file designed for office document storage. It measures 35 W x 22 D x 29-1/2 H and uses a central lock with anti-tip mechanism that allows only one drawer to open at a time. Ball-bearing suspension provides smooth drawer operation for letter and legal hanging files.

Best for single-drawer access needs

Suits offices that require secure, sequential drawer access and a lockable filing solution for standard hanging folders. Not suited for users who need simultaneous multi-drawer access or storage for oversized documents beyond legal size.

Central lock with anti-tip interlock

The built-in central lock and anti-tip system restricts operation to one open drawer at a time, preventing tip-over and securing contents. This single mechanism governs both safety and access control for the unit.

Questions about this item

Will the 35-inch-wide lateral file fit beside my existing 22-inch-deep desk without overhang?

The cabinet is 35 inches wide and 22 inches deep, so it matches a 22-inch desk depth exactly and adds 35 inches of width to your layout.

How can I verify the anti-tip interlock is functioning after assembly?

Open one drawer fully — the mechanism should physically prevent any other drawer from opening until the first is closed again.

Does the 69399 ship with hanging-file rails for letter and legal sizes, or must I buy them separately?

The drawers include built-in rails that accept both letter-size and legal-size hanging files; no extra rails are required.
