Executive Mahogany Desk

The Lorell Prominence double-pedestal desk measures 72 by 42 inches with a 29 inch height, giving executives a broad bowfront worksurface in a mahogany laminate finish. A 1 inch thick top with 3mm edgebanding and a full modesty panel create a professional presence suited to private offices or home studies.

Upgrade from smaller desks

Replacing a single-pedestal or writing desk adds locking storage on both sides: one pedestal holds two file drawers while the other provides two box drawers plus a file drawer. The jump is worth it when daily work requires letter or legal hanging files within arm's reach and a surface that resists marring, burns and impact.

Ready-to-use installation

The desk ships fully assembled, so placement is the only step; 3/4 inch adjustable glides level the unit on uneven floors. What usually goes wrong is underestimating the 264.18 pound weight — moving it into position requires two people and a clear path through doorways.

Questions about this item

How much floor space does the 72" x 42" double-pedestal desk need?

The desk measures 72 inches wide by 42 inches deep and stands 29 inches high, so allow at least that footprint plus clearance for chair movement and drawer extension on both sides.

The desk ships fully assembled — what is the step people get wrong when positioning it?

Because it arrives fully assembled and weighs 264.18 lb, the common mistake is trying to move it alone; use a team lift, position it before levelling the four 3/4" adjustable glides, and lock the drawers before sliding the unit into place.

What upkeep do the 100 lb ball-bearing slides and locking drawers need over time?

Wipe the slides clean of dust, apply a light dry lubricant annually, and check that the lock cylinders turn smoothly; the thermally fused melamine surfaces only need a damp cloth and mild cleaner.
