SKU CH-ATMX-T8MAF

Eight-port SAS host bus adapter with LSI SAS2008 chipset, PCIe 3.0 x8 interface and 6Gbps transfer speed running IT mode firmware P20

  • 8 internal ports connect multiple SAS or SATA drives
  • PCIe 3.0 x8 interface provides 6Gbps bandwidth per port
  • LSI SAS2008 controller chipset handles RAID-free HBA workloads
  • Pre-flashed IT Mode P20 firmware (20.00.07.00) enables direct drive access
  • Includes full-height and low-profile brackets for flexible mounting

8-port SAS HBA with IT Mode firmware

The LSI 9223-8i is an 8-port SAS host bus adapter that runs IT Mode firmware version 20.00.07.00. It connects to the host through a PCIe 3.0 x8 slot and uses the LSI SAS2008 controller chipset. Each port supports 6 Gbps transfer rates for SAS and SATA devices. The card ships with both a high-profile and a low-profile bracket.

Suited for ZFS, FreeNAS or unRAID storage builds

This adapter suits builders who need direct disk access without hardware RAID abstraction. It works with eight SAS or SATA drives and fits in a standard PCIe 3.0 x8 slot. It is not for systems that only offer PCIe x1 or x4 slots, nor for users who require onboard RAID processing.

PCIe 3.0 x8 slot requirement

The card requires a physical PCIe 3.0 x8 connection, so the motherboard must provide that slot width. If the platform only has smaller PCIe slots, the adapter will not fit.
