Cable Length and Application

The Lumenzi EC-5E-25-GRY-1 is a 25-foot Category 5e patch cable built for indoor or outdoor network runs. Its PVC jacket is rated for direct burial and resists UV exposure, making it suitable for routing between buildings or through conduit without additional protection.

Upgrade From Older or Thinner Cables

Replacing a standard indoor patch cord or copper-clad aluminium cable with this bare-copper, shielded design restores full gigabit throughput over the full 100-metre channel. The jump is worth it when existing links show packet loss, corrosion on contacts, or jacket cracking after seasonal temperature swings.

Build Integration and Clearance

Gold-plated RJ45 connectors with snagless boots plug directly into routers, switches, consoles or PoE cameras without blocking adjacent ports. The 350 MHz bandwidth headroom supports 1 Gbps speeds while the flexible PVC sheath eases pulls through tight bends, freeing installers from stiff-cable kinks.

Questions about this item

What clearance does the snagless boot on the RJ45 connectors need?

The snagless boot protects the clip during insertion and removal; allow enough space behind the port for the boot to flex without pressing against a wall or panel.

How do I seat the gold-plated RJ45 plugs correctly on this 25 FT cable?

Push each RJ45 plug straight into the port until the latch clicks; the common mistake is stopping at the first resistance instead of hearing the click.

When should I replace this outdoor-rated PVC-jacketed cable?

Inspect the grey jacket periodically for UV cracking, cuts, or water ingress at the connectors; replace if the sheath is brittle or the gold contacts show corrosion.
