What this kit does

This LUOM converter kit changes analog YPbPr component video and stereo audio into a digital HDMI signal so older DVD players, cable boxes and game consoles can connect to modern televisions, monitors or projectors. It is a one-direction Component-to-HDMI adapter and cannot be used in reverse. The box includes the converter, a 5V power supply and a user manual.

Resolution and refresh support

The unit accepts component input at 480i/p at 60Hz, 576i/p at 50Hz, 720p at 50 or 60Hz and 1080i/p at 50 or 60Hz, then outputs HDMI at 480p, 576p, 720p at 60Hz or 1080p at 60Hz. Video amplifier bandwidth is rated at 1.65Gbps or 165MHz. It does not scale to higher resolutions or refresh rates beyond the listed 1080p 60Hz maximum.

Audio handling and bundled cables

Audio input is two-channel LPCM and the converter passes uncompressed formats such as DTS Digital, Dolby Digital, DTS-HD and Dolby True HD. The package supplies the converter and power supply only; no HDMI or component cables are included so you must provide your own 5RCA component lead and HDMI cable to complete the connection.
