Converts HDMI video and audio to composite RCA output at 480i or 576i resolution for older TVs, VCRs and DVD recorders, with USB power included
This LUOM adapter converts an HDMI source into a standard-definition composite video signal with stereo audio. It outputs 480i or 576i resolution in both NTSC and PAL formats for older TVs, VHS recorders or DVD recorders. A USB power cable is included and must be connected to a 5 V supply before use.
The built-in scaler down-converts the incoming high-definition stream to CVBS without introducing driver overhead, so picture quality remains consistent over long sessions. Brightness, contrast and colour processing are handled by the onboard video processor rather than the host device. No software installation is required on the source side.
Plug the HDMI cable into the source, connect the three RCA leads to the display, and attach the USB power lead to any 5 V port. The converter will not function if the power cable is left unconnected. Note that streaming sticks, mobile devices, Apple hardware and the Super Nintendo are explicitly incompatible with this unit.

The unit ships with a USB power cable that must be connected to a 5 V source; the converter itself has no fan and runs at low power, so it stays cool in continuous operation.
The converter requires a source with an HDMI port — such as a laptop, TV box, Xbox, PlayStation 3 or 4 — and will not function with TV sticks, phones, tablets or Apple devices.
Yes, the converter outputs standard-definition CVBS at 576i for PAL and 480i for NTSC, matching the inputs on older CRT TVs, VHS recorders and DVD recorders.
