HDMI to Dual SDI Converter

The LUOM HDMI2SDI takes a single HDMI Type A input and produces two identical SDI outputs. It accepts HDMI formats from 480P up to 1080p at 24, 25, 30, 50 and 60 Hz plus common PC resolutions. Embedded audio travels with the video and both outputs run at up to 2.970 Gbit/s for 3G-SDI or 1.485 Gbit/s for HD-SDI. No external power supply is required and the metal chassis includes ESD protection.

Broadcast and Streaming Professionals

This converter suits camera operators, live-production crews and AV installers who need to send an HDMI source to two SDI monitors or recorders over long cable runs. It is not for users who require bi-directional conversion from SDI to HDMI, nor for workflows that chain multiple converters of the same type. Buyers needing 4K or HDR signal paths should look at higher-bandwidth devices.

Build Integration

The unit connects directly to an HDMI source such as a camera, switcher or computer running Windows, macOS, Linux or Android. Two BNC cables carry the SDI signals up to 100 metres for 3G-SDI, 200 metres for HD-SDI or 300 metres for SD-SDI. Driver-free plug-and-play operation frees up USB ports and software overhead, while the compact 5.83 x 4.49 x 2.44 inch metal body fits on a desk or in a rack without extra mounting hardware.

Questions about this item

What HDMI source do I need to feed the LUOM HDMI2SDI converter?

Any HDMI Type A source outputting 480p, 576p, 720p at 50 or 60 Hz, or 1080p at 24, 25, 30, 50, or 60 Hz, plus the listed PC resolutions up to 1680 x 1050 at 60 Hz.

Will my older SD-SDI or HD-SDI monitors work with the two SDI outputs?

Yes. The converter auto-detects and outputs 3G-SDI at 2.970 Gbit/s, HD-SDI at 1.485 Gbit/s, or SD-SDI, so legacy SDI displays up to 300 m away will sync correctly.

How can I confirm the converter is passing a clean 1080p 60 Hz signal to both SDI ports?

The front LED indicator lights when a valid HDMI signal is locked; verify on each SDI monitor that the on-screen info shows 1080p at 60 Hz with embedded audio and no dropouts.
