Converts HDMI to VGA with micro-USB power and 3.5 mm audio, supports 1920x1080 at 60 Hz
The LUOM HDV101 is an active HDMI to VGA adapter designed to connect devices with an HDMI output to displays that only accept a VGA input. It targets users who need to link a laptop, desktop, or Raspberry Pi to an older monitor, projector, or HDTV without replacing the screen. A built-in IC chip handles the digital-to-analogue conversion. The white housing includes a short tether to reduce strain on the source port.
Installation is plug-and-play with no driver required for standard operation. The adapter draws power from the HDMI port, but an attached Micro-USB cable must be connected to a USB power source when the host device supplies low power, such as certain Apple or Sony products. Forgetting this step is the most common cause of a blank screen or unstable image. Gold-plated connectors resist corrosion and ensure a firm seat.
The converter supports resolutions up to 1920x1080 at 60Hz, along with 720p and 1600x1200 for compatible monitors and projectors. It does not carry audio, so a separate 3.5mm connection is needed for sound. HDCP-encrypted content such as Blu-ray playback or console output from a PS3 or PS4 will not pass through. The adapter reaches its limit at 1080p and cannot drive higher-resolution panels.

The display should show an image at the native resolution of your monitor or projector; check the on-screen display or your computer's display settings to confirm 1920x1080 at 60Hz is active.
The adapter includes an attached Micro-USB power cable, a 3.5 mm audio port and a short HDMI pigtail; you must supply your own VGA cable to reach the display.
The single HDV101 model handles both; it supports up to 1920x1080 60Hz and also works at 720p and 1600x1200, so one unit covers all listed resolutions.
