LUOM OZ8AB 8K HDMI 2.1 Bi-Directional Switch 2×1/1×2 48Gbps

What the LUOM OZ8AB does

This bidirectional HDMI 2.1 switch connects two sources to one display or one source to two displays, though both outputs cannot show an image at the same time. It handles 8K at 60 Hz and 4K at 120 Hz or 144 Hz with a 48 Gbps bandwidth ceiling. The aluminium chassis aids heat dissipation during extended sessions. Gamers and home-theatre users who need to share a single high-refresh screen between a console and a PC will find it useful.

Behaviour under sustained load

The unit relies on passive aluminium cooling and an external 5 V power adapter to maintain signal integrity over long periods. Manual switching takes three to six seconds for some high-power sources, so rapid toggling is not practical. Because the two outputs never operate simultaneously, the splitter mode avoids the extra thermal load of driving dual displays. There is no automatic switching, so the user must press the button each time a change is needed.

Installation notes and common issues

Connect the supplied DC 5 V cable before linking any HDMI devices; the switch will not function without external power. Use certified HDMI 2.1 cables no longer than three metres for 8K 60 Hz or 4K 120 Hz signals, as longer or lower-grade cables cause dropouts. Remember that the two outputs in splitter mode cannot display simultaneously — a frequent point of confusion. The push button cycles inputs or outputs cleanly, but allow a few seconds for the handshake to complete.
