Two-port 8K HDMI 2.1 switch

This LUOM OZ8Q2B switch routes video and audio from two HDMI sources to a single display. It supports 8K resolution at 60 Hz, 4K at 120 Hz, 2K at 144 Hz and 1080p at 240 Hz. A front-panel button selects the active input and LED indicators show the current port. The aluminium enclosure measures 5.91 x 2.36 x .79 inches and weighs 11.9 ounces. A DC 5 V power cable is included for stable operation.

Bandwidth and backward compatibility limits

The switch passes up to 48 Gbps and complies with the HDMI 2.1 specification. It remains backward compatible with HDMI 2.0b, 2.0a, 2.0 and 1.4 sources and displays. Maximum supported resolution is 7680 x 4320 pixels. Cables longer than the supplier recommends may prevent the highest resolutions from being achieved. The single output cannot drive two screens simultaneously.

48 Gbps bandwidth for 8K 60 Hz

The 48 Gbps maximum baud rate is the specification that determines whether 8K at 60 Hz or 4K at 120 Hz can be transmitted without compression. If your source, cable and display all support that bandwidth, the switch will pass the signal without lag or resolution drop. Buyers who need to connect more than two sources or who require multiple simultaneous outputs should consider a matrix or a device with additional ports.

Questions about this item

How do I choose between the 8K and 4K modes on this LUOM OZ8Q2B switch?

The switch automatically passes the highest resolution each source supports, up to 8K at 60Hz or 4K at 120Hz, so you simply connect your devices and press the selector button to change inputs.

Will 48Gbps bandwidth actually deliver 8K 60Hz on my display?

Yes, the 48Gbps rating matches the HDMI 2.1 specification for 8K at 60Hz, provided you use certified Ultra High Speed HDMI cables on both the input and output sides.

What does HDMI 2.1 support cap at for this 2-in-1-out selector?

The HDMI 2.1 implementation caps at 48Gbps, enabling 8K at 60Hz, 4K at 120Hz, 2K at 144Hz and 1080p at 240Hz, while remaining backward compatible with earlier HDMI versions.
