4-in 3-out Composite AV Switcher

The LUOM OZQV routes four composite sources to three displays or recorders. It handles video, left and right audio on colour-coded RCA sockets. The unit is built for retro consoles, DVD players, VCRs or cameras that still output analogue composite signals. Buyers who need HDMI, component, S-Video or matrix switching will not find those functions here.

Hardware integration and cabling

The switcher sits between source devices and up to three TVs, capture cards or recorders. A 5 V 1 A power adapter is included and required for operation. No drivers or software are involved; switching is done by a front button or the supplied IR remote. The metal chassis measures 8 x 5.6 x .7 inches and weighs 3.2 ounces, so it fits on a shelf or behind equipment without extra mounting hardware.

Thermals, noise and power draw

Passive cooling and no moving parts keep the unit silent in normal use. Power consumption stays low thanks to the 5 V 1 A supply. Video bandwidth is rated 50 Hz to 5.5 MHz with 75 ohm impedance, while audio runs 10 Hz to 20 kHz at 2 V RMS into 47 kohm input and 1 kohm output impedance.

Questions about this item

How many composite devices can I connect to the four inputs before I run out of ports?

The switcher accepts four composite sources, each using the three RCA connectors for video, left audio and right audio.

Does the metal housing stay cool when the unit is powered all day?

The device draws power from the included 5 V 1 A adapter and has no fan, so it runs silently with minimal heat.

Which cables must I already have to hook up my sources and displays?

You need composite RCA cables — three per connection — for every source and every TV you want to link.
