Practical limits of the USB4 interface

The cable reaches its 40Gbps data rate only when both host and peripheral support USB4 Gen 3x2. Video output requires the source port to carry DisplayPort Alternate Mode; not every USB-C port does. The 240W charging ceiling applies solely with PD 3.1 EPR chargers and devices that accept 48V/5A; otherwise power falls back to 180W, 140W, 100W or lower negotiated levels. Thunderbolt 3 and 4 hosts work, but Thunderbolt 2 devices need an adapter not included here.
