Purpose and audience
The LUOM SDI2HDMI converts SD-SDI, HD-SDI and 3G-SDI signals to HDMI while providing an SDI loop output. It is aimed at camera operators, live-stream producers and installers who need to view or record 1080p60 footage on HDMI monitors, projectors or capture cards without re-encoding.
Thermals noise and power
The unit draws a maximum of 5 W from a USB DC 5 V 1 A supply, so no external power brick is required. With no fan fitted, it runs silently and stays within an operating range of 0 °C to 50 °C at up to 85 % relative humidity.
Build integration
One BNC input accepts 270 Mb/s, 1.485 Gb/s or 2.97 Gb/s SDI streams and auto-detects the format. The converter outputs HDMI 1.3 at up to 1080p60 and simultaneously passes the original SDI signal out through a second BNC for daisy-chaining. It works with Windows, macOS, Linux and Android hosts without drivers.

Questions about this item
How do I connect the BNC SDI input and USB power without losing the loop-out signal?
Plug the source into the single BNC input, connect the HDMI display to the HDMI port, run the SDI loop-out to the next device, then power the converter through the USB DC 5V/1A port using the supplied adapter; the loop stays active while powered.
Will the BNC connectors or USB power port need replacement after extended use?
The BNC input, SDI loop-out and HDMI output are passive connectors rated for repeated mating cycles, and the USB power port follows standard durability specs; no user-serviceable parts or scheduled replacements are required.
At what point does the 2.97 Gbps SDI data rate limit the 1080p60 output during long captures?
The 2.97 Gbps ceiling matches 3G-SDI bandwidth for 1080p at 50 or 60 Hz with 4:2:2 or 4:4:4 sampling, so sustained captures at those formats hit the interface limit first; lower frame rates or 720p stay within headroom.
