LUOM TJ-A009 DP 1.4 Bi-Directional Switch

The LUOM TJ-A009 is a manual DisplayPort 1.4 switch that lets you route two sources to one display or one source between two displays. It supports 8K at 60 Hz, 4K at 120 Hz and 1080p at 240 Hz with 32.4 Gbps bandwidth. The unit requires external DC 5 V power and uses a push button to change the active signal path.

Check cables and power before ordering

You must use certified DisplayPort 1.4 cables to reach the advertised 32.4 Gbps throughput and 8K 60 Hz resolution. The switch draws power from an included DC 5 V cable, so a free USB port or wall adapter is needed. Simultaneous output to both displays is not possible; only one screen shows an image at a time.

Passive thermals and silent operation

The compact aluminium enclosure measures 12 by 6 by 0.08 inches and weighs 1.2 ounces, dissipating heat without a fan. No moving parts mean completely silent operation in normal use. Power draw is limited to the 5 V supply needed for signal conditioning and the LED status indicators.

Questions about this item

What comes in the package and do I need to buy cables separately?

The box includes the bidirectional DisplayPort switch and a DC 5 V power cable. You must supply your own DisplayPort 1.4 cables — at least two for 1-in-2-out use or three for 2-in-1-out — because none are bundled.

How do I decide between 1-in-2-out and 2-in-1-out operation?

Choose 1-in-2-out when you have one computer or console and want to toggle between two monitors; choose 2-in-1-out when you have two sources such as a PC and a laptop sharing a single display. Only one screen is active at a time in either mode.

What does the 32.4 Gbps bandwidth mean for my 4K 144 Hz monitor?

The 32.4 Gbps link supports 4K at 120 Hz, 144 Hz and 165 Hz with 10-bit colour and HDR, provided you use certified DisplayPort 1.4 cables and your GPU and monitor both run at those rates.
