A 16 ft fiber-optic DisplayPort 1.4 cable carrying 32.4 Gbps for 8K at 30 Hz, 5K at 60 Hz or 4K at 120 Hz
Cable Length 16 Feet
This 16 ft active optical cable carries DisplayPort 1.4 signals between a source and a display. The hybrid glass-fiber and copper construction keeps the cable slim and flexible for in-wall or tight-space routing. Gold-plated connectors resist corrosion. It suits PC, laptop, monitor, projector or HDTV setups that need a long reach without signal loss.
The link supports up to 32.4 Gbps, enabling 8K at 60 Hz and 4K at 144 Hz. Lower resolutions such as 1440p and 1080p run at their native rates. DSC 1.2 compression allows the highest modes within the 1.4 standard. The cable will not deliver 8K above 60 Hz or 4K above 144 Hz because the DisplayPort 1.4 interface caps total throughput at 32.4 Gbps.
DisplayPort 1.4 tops out at 32.4 Gbps, so 8K at 120 Hz or 4K at 240 Hz require a newer interface such as DisplayPort 2.1. Both the graphics card and the monitor must implement DisplayPort 1.4 with HBR3 and DSC 1.2 to reach the cable's rated modes. HDCP 2.2 and eARC pass through, but the cable cannot add features the endpoints do not support.
