LUOM TJ-A106 DP 1.4 Bi-Directional Switch

The LUOM TJ-A106 is a DisplayPort 1.4 bi-directional switch that lets you share one 8K monitor between two computers or toggle a single computer between two displays. It supports 8K at 30 Hz, 4K at 120 Hz and 1080p at 240 Hz with 32.4 Gbps bandwidth and 10-bit colour depth. A manual select button and LED indicators show the active path. External 5 V power is required for operation.

Sustained 8K and high-refresh 4K stability

Because the switch passes a full 32.4 Gbps DP 1.4 signal without compression, it maintains 8K 30 Hz or 4K 120 Hz continuously as long as the source, cable and display each meet the DP 1.4 spec. The active circuitry is powered from the included USB cable, so signal integrity does not degrade during long sessions. HDR and 32-bit audio pass through unchanged. Two displays cannot be active at the same time; only the selected port receives a signal.

Check cables, power and display limits before buying

You must use certified DP 1.4 cables on every connection to reach the rated resolutions and refresh rates. The supplied USB power cable must be connected to a 5 V source or the switch will not pass video. Your monitor and graphics outputs must both support the target mode; if one source is 8K and the other 4K the display will fall back to the lower capability. The switch does not split the image across two screens simultaneously.

Questions about this item

Does the LUOM TJ-A106 switch generate any fan noise or heat when left running all day?

The unit has no fan and draws only the 5 V USB power it needs to operate, so it runs silently and stays cool during continuous use.

Which cables and power source must I already have to use this switch?

You need two standard DisplayPort 1.4 cables for the sources, one DisplayPort 1.4 cable for the display, and a USB port or charger to supply the included 5 V power line.

Will my older 1080p 144 Hz monitor work correctly through this DP 1.4 switch?

Yes, the switch is backward compatible with earlier DisplayPort standards and passes 1080p at up to 240 Hz without issues.
