Three-input 8K HDMI 2.1 switch

The LUOM TJ-A113 connects three HDMI 2.1 sources to a single display and lets you change the active input with a button or the supplied IR remote. It handles 8K at 60 Hz and 4K at 120 Hz across a 48 Gbps link, so consoles, streaming sticks and PCs can share one screen without cable swapping. Dynamic HDR, VRR and full chroma subsampling are passed through unchanged.

Passive thermals and external power option

The aluminium enclosure dissipates heat without a fan, so the switch runs silently in normal use. Power draw is low enough that most source devices can drive it directly through the HDMI cables, but a USB-C port is provided for an external supply when power-hungry sources are connected. The supplier notes that stable 8K performance may require that extra power.

Compact desktop footprint

At 8 by 5 by 0.03 inches the unit sits flat on a desk or shelf and keeps all three inputs and the single output on the same edge for tidy cable routing. An LED indicates which port is active, and the IR receiver works at typical living-room distances. HDMI 2.1 cables under 10 metres are recommended for the highest resolutions, and no driver installation is needed on any supported platform.

Questions about this item

How do I install the LUOM TJ-A113 3x1 8K HDMI 2.1 switch and what step do people often miss?

Connect up to three HDMI 2.1 sources to the three input ports and one display to the single output port, then plug the included Type-C cable into a USB power source for full 48Gbps bandwidth; the step many skip is powering the switch, which is required for stable 8K@60Hz or 4K@120Hz operation.

What maintenance or replacement will the LUOM TJ-A113 need over time?

No user-serviceable parts exist; keep the unit dust-free, use certified HDMI 2.1 cables no longer than 10 metres for 8K@60Hz, and replace cables if signal drop-outs appear — the aluminium enclosure and passive switching circuitry have no scheduled maintenance.

What limit appears first during sustained 8K@60Hz use on the LUOM TJ-A113?

The 48Gbps bandwidth ceiling is the first hard limit; pushing 8K@60Hz with full chroma 4:4:4 and Dynamic HDR saturates the link, so any cable longer than 10 metres or a marginal power source will cause instability before the switch itself overheats.
