DisplayPort 2.1 Cable 3.3 ft 80 Gbps

This DisplayPort 2.1 cable carries 80 Gbps bandwidth over a 3.3 ft link. It connects laptops, PCs, consoles and monitors with male-to-male DisplayPort 2.1 connectors. The triple-shielded, solid-copper construction is VESA certified and backwards compatible with earlier DisplayPort versions. Buyers who need a longer run or an angled connector should look elsewhere.

16K@30 Hz 8K@120 Hz 4K@240 Hz Headroom

The cable supports 16K at 30 Hz, 8K at 120 Hz and 4K at 240 Hz using Display Stream Compression. It also handles 4K at 165 Hz, 1440p at 360 Hz and 1080p at 240 Hz without compression. Dynamic HDR, HDCP 2.2 and stereoscopic 3D are included. Users targeting uncompressed 16K or higher refresh rates at 8K will exceed the link capacity.

UHBR20 Bandwidth Limit and DSC Dependency

The 80 Gbps UHBR20 ceiling means the highest resolutions rely on DSC 1.2a compression. Without a DSC-capable source and sink the maximum uncompressed format drops to lower resolutions or refresh rates. Multi-Stream Transport is supported for daisy-chaining, but total payload cannot exceed the 80 Gbps aggregate. Cable length is fixed at 3.3 ft, so longer installations require a different solution.

Questions about this item

Will this 3.3 ft DisplayPort 2.1 cable work with my older GTX 1080 graphics card?

Yes, the cable is backwards compatible with DisplayPort 1.4, 1.3, 1.2 and 1.1, so it will carry video from a GTX 1080 at the card's maximum supported resolution and refresh rate.

How can I verify the cable is delivering 80 Gbps bandwidth after I connect it?

In Windows display settings or your GPU control panel, confirm the link reports UHBR20 or 80 Gbps and that your monitor shows its native resolution at the expected refresh rate such as 4K at 240 Hz or 8K at 60 Hz.

Does the box include only the 3.3 ft male-to-male DisplayPort 2.1 cable or are adapters also supplied?

The package contains the single 3.3 ft DisplayPort 2.1 male-to-male cable; no adapters, converters or additional cables are included.
