Connects Mini DisplayPort devices to DisplayPort displays at up to 8K 60 Hz, 4K 144 Hz or 2K 240 Hz with bi-directional 32.4 Gbps HBR3 bandwidth
This bi-directional cable connects a Mini DisplayPort 1.4 source to a standard DisplayPort 1.4 display. It is built for users who need 8K resolution at 60 Hz or high-refresh-rate gaming at 4K 144 Hz and 2K 240 Hz. The 6.6 ft length suits desktop setups where the source and monitor are close together. Gold-plated connectors and a cotton-braided jacket add durability for daily use.
The link runs at 32.4 Gbps using the HBR3 standard, which carries 8K 60 Hz 10-bit RGB 4:4:4 with Display Stream Compression. Uncompressed 8K 60 Hz exceeds the raw bandwidth, so the source and sink must both support DSC. At 4K the cable handles 120 Hz and 144 Hz 10-bit HDR, while 2K reaches 240 Hz. HDCP 2.2, HDR10 and Dolby Vision pass through when the connected devices implement them.
Both ends are male, so the cable plugs directly into a Mini DisplayPort 1.4 output and a full-size DisplayPort 1.4 input without adapters. Buyers whose source or display uses a female Mini DisplayPort or a different connector type will need a separate adapter. The bi-directional design works either way, but the physical gender is fixed.

Other versions of this model
The only length offered is 6.6 ft, which is about two metres and suits most desk-to-monitor runs.
It carries 4K at 144 Hz with 10-bit colour, HDR and RGB 4:4:4, so high-refresh gaming and colour-critical work both run without compression.
The DP 1.4 link caps at 32.4 Gbps, enabling 8K at 60 Hz, 4K at 144 Hz or 2K at 240 Hz, but it cannot reach 8K at 120 Hz or 4K at 240 Hz.
