Product identity

The M.A. Ford CXDSS 0960AP Cyclone Xd is a 9.60 mm solid double-margin drill designed for 3X diameter drilling depth. It targets machinists and maintenance teams who need accurate holes in steel, stainless steel or cast iron using standard tool holders.

Compatibility check

Verify that your machine spindle accepts a 9.60 mm shank and that the work-holding provides enough rigidity for a 3X depth-to-diameter ratio. Confirm coolant delivery can reach the cutting zone and that the material hardness falls within the drill’s recommended range.

Build integration

The double-margin design improves hole straightness and surface finish, reducing the need for secondary reaming operations. It fits directly into existing drill holders, freeing up tool-change time and simplifying inventory for repetitive production runs.

Questions about this item

Does the M.A. Ford CXDSS 0960AP Cyclone Xd drill include any accessories or only the 9.60 mm bit?

The package contains the 9.60 mm solid double-margin drill bit only; no pilot drills, lubricants or holders are supplied.

When should I choose the 9.60 mm Cyclone Xd 3X over other diameters in the range?

Select the 9.60 mm version when the finished hole must be exactly that size; each diameter in the series is ground to its stated millimetre value.

What does the 3X designation mean for hole depth in a CNC machine?

3X indicates the flute length allows drilling up to three times the 9.60 mm diameter in a single pass before pecking is required.
