All-in-One Film Scanner

The Magnasonic FS70NT01 digitises 35mm, 110, 126 and Super 8 negatives plus 135, 126 and 110 slides. It produces 13MP JPEG images with an optional 25MP interpolated setting. A 5-inch TFT colour display and HDMI output let you review scans on the device or a larger screen. Three long-tray 35mm negative holders are included for batch loading.

Practical Limits of the Scanner

Each scan takes roughly five seconds at the native 13MP resolution. Built-in memory holds only 128MB, so an SD card up to 128GB is needed for large archives. The HDMI port provides display output only; it does not transfer files to a computer. Interpolated 25MP files are larger but add no new optical detail.

Check Your Setup Before Ordering

You will need an SD card (not supplied) to store more than a handful of scans. Ensure your TV or monitor has a free HDMI input if you want to view images on a bigger screen. The scanner handles the listed film and slide formats only; other sizes such as 8mm movie film or medium-format negatives are not supported. A USB cable and power adapter are required for operation and file transfer.

Questions about this item

Should I use the 13MP native setting or the 25MP interpolated option?

Use 13MP for true optical detail; the 25MP setting adds pixels by interpolation and does not capture extra information.

What does the 13MP native resolution mean when I view scans on a TV via HDMI?

The scanner outputs a 13-megapixel JPEG, so a 4K TV will downscale it to fit its 8-megapixel panel while preserving detail.

What does the HDMI port actually let me do with this scanner?

It mirrors the live preview and finished scans to any HDMI-compatible TV or monitor for larger viewing.
