Smart charger for AA & AAA cells

The Powerex C980 charges one to eight AA or AAA NiCd and NiMH batteries in independent slots. A ninth-generation MH-NM7108 microprocessor manages each cell individually. The package includes sixteen 2900 mAh AccuPower AA batteries rated at 1.2 Volt.

Worldwide AC input and selectable currents

The unit accepts 100 to 240 V at 50 to 60 Hz for global use. Turbo mode delivers 2.0 A for AA and 1.0 A for AAA, while default mode uses 1.0 A and 0.5 A respectively. A full turbo charge takes 60 minutes and default takes 120 minutes. Conditioning mode is also selectable for maintenance cycles.

Simple drop-in installation with CE certification

Batteries insert directly into the clearly labelled slots without tools or software. The microprocessor stops charging automatically when each cell is full. No memory effect means the included cells can be recharged up to 1000 times. Users who need to charge C, D or 9 V sizes will need a different charger.

Questions about this item

Should I pick the 2.0 A turbo charge or the 1.0 A default charge for my 16 AA AccuPower cells?

Turbo mode at 2.0 A refills the 2900 mAh AA cells in about 60 minutes, while default at 1.0 A takes roughly 120 minutes; both are safe for the included batteries.

What does the 2900 mAh rating deliver when the cells are in a real device?

Each 1.2 V AA cell stores 2900 mAh, giving long run-times in high-drain gear such as flashes or game controllers and supporting up to 1000 recharge cycles.

How does the 100-240 V AC input limit where I can use the C980 charger?

The built-in 100-240 V 50-60 Hz supply works on mains worldwide, so the charger operates on any standard household outlet without a voltage converter.
