Vending Padlock for Meter Use
This Master Lock padlock is built for vending machines and utility meters that require a standardised keyed-alike system. It uses a fixed Key No. 456 and a Master K1 keyway so multiple units open with the same key. The four-pin cylinder is not rekeyable and does not accept an interchangeable core.
Steel Body With Standard Shackle
The rectangular steel body measures 1 9/16 in high by 1 9/16 in wide by 3/4 in thick. A 3/8 in diameter steel shackle provides 7/8 in vertical clearance and 5/8 in horizontal width. The lock carries no weather-resistant rating and is not classified as high security.
Single Key Alike Configuration
Each padlock ships with one bumper and operates exclusively with Key No. 456. Control-key registration is not required and the cylinder cannot be rekeyed. Buyers who need unique key codes, master-keyed sets, or weather-sealed housings must choose a different model.

Questions about this item
How do I install this Master Lock vending padlock on a machine, and what step is often missed?
Insert the 3/8 in steel shackle through the hasp or latch, snap the rectangular steel body shut, and turn key number 456 to lock; the step often missed is verifying the 7/8 in shackle height fully clears the mounting tab before closing.
What maintenance or replacement will this padlock need over time?
The 4‑pin Master K1 cylinder and single steel bumper are not rekeyable; if the key wears or the mechanism binds, the entire padlock must be replaced rather than serviced.
What is the first limitation that appears under sustained outdoor use?
The specifications list weather resistant as no, so prolonged exposure to rain or humidity will cause corrosion on the steel body and shackle before any mechanical wear becomes an issue.
