What the product is and who it is for

This pack contains five Maxell DVD-R discs, each offering 4.7GB of write-once storage. They suit anyone needing permanent backups for photos, video or data that must not be altered after recording. The 16x maximum write speed works with compatible DVD-R or DVD-RW drives. Buyers who want rewritable media or higher capacity formats should look elsewhere.

Thermals, noise and power draw in normal use

Optical media consume no power and generate no heat or noise themselves. Performance depends entirely on the host drive, which handles laser power and spindle speed. The 120mm form factor fits standard tray or slot-loading drives without mechanical issues. No cooling or power budget considerations apply to the discs.

Build quality, connectors and mounting day to day

Each disc comes in its own jewel case, protecting the recording surface from dust and scratches during handling. The single-sided, write-once format ensures data cannot be accidentally erased or overwritten. Media are manufactured in Taiwan and weigh approximately 7.05 oz for the five-disc pack. They read back in any DVD playback device that supports the DVD-R format.

Questions about this item

How do I install the 120 mm DVD-R discs into my 16x writer?

Place each disc label-side up on the drive tray, close the tray and let the burner calibrate; the step people skip is confirming the software writes at 16x instead of defaulting to a slower speed.

What maintenance or replacement will the 5-pack of 4.7 GB DVD-R discs need later?

The discs are write-once, so no maintenance is required; store them vertically in their jewel cases at room temperature and replace any disc that develops read errors after finalising.

What limit appears first during sustained 16x recording on these 4.70 GB DVD-R discs?

The 120 mm media reaches its 4.7 GB capacity after roughly two hours of continuous 16x writing, so the capacity ceiling arrives before any thermal throttle.
