1.5 m QSFP56 HDR cable

This 1.5 metre passive copper cable carries InfiniBand HDR traffic at up to 200 Gb/s through a QSFP56 interface. It is built for data-centre racks that need short-reach, high-density links between switches, adapters and storage nodes. The LSZH jacket meets low-smoke, zero-halogen safety requirements for enclosed cabinet runs.

Sustained 200 Gb/s over copper

Eight 50 Gb/s PAM4 lanes deliver the full HDR rate continuously across the 1.5 m reach without active equalisation. The 30 AWG conductors and 3.3 V single supply keep insertion loss low enough to maintain a bit error rate better than 1E-15 across the 0-70 °C operating range. Hot-pluggable SFF-8665 compliance means the link stays stable during live insertions and removals.

Replaces fibre for short HDR runs

This passive DAC replaces costly active optical cables and transceivers when the connection stays within a single rack or adjacent racks. The jump is worth it when power budget, latency and per-port cost matter more than reach beyond a few metres. It is not for links that exceed the passive copper distance envelope or that require multimode or single-mode fibre media.
