Quick-Change Disc Pack

This pack supplies fifty 3-inch quick-change discs rated at 24-grit extra coarse aluminum oxide on a Y-weight cloth backing. The TP snap-on attachment system fits compatible hand sanders for fast disc swaps. Maximum operating speed is 20,000 RPM. The brown colour identifies the abrasive grade at a glance.

Suited for aggressive stock removal

These discs serve metalworkers and fabricators who need rapid material removal on steel or other ferrous surfaces. The extra-coarse grit and high RPM rating support heavy grinding tasks. They are not intended for fine finishing, polishing or work on delicate substrates that require a finer abrasive grade.

Fits TP quick-change mandrels

Each disc mounts directly onto a Type 1 TP snap-on mandrel, eliminating the need for tools during changeover. The cloth backing resists tearing during high-speed use. The 50-piece quantity reduces reorder frequency for high-volume shops. Ensure the sander’s rated speed meets or exceeds 20,000 RPM before mounting.

Questions about this item

What type of backing pad or holder does the TP snap-on/off attachment system on these 3 in discs require?

The TP snap-on/off system requires a compatible Type 1 quick-change backing pad or holder with a matching TP interface to secure the 3 in discs.

Can these 24 grit extra coarse aluminum oxide discs be used on the same backing pad as finer grit discs in the R228 series?

Yes, all R228 series discs share the TP snap-on/off attachment, so 24 grit discs swap onto the same Type 1 backing pad used for finer grits.

How can I confirm the discs are running safely at the rated speed after mounting them on my hand sander?

Ensure the hand sander's maximum RPM does not exceed 20,000 RPM and verify the disc sits flush on the Type 1 backing pad without wobble before starting.
