Universal Double-DIN Trim Rings

The Metra 89-50-0900 trim rings provide a finished bezel for installing a double-DIN head unit into a compatible dashboard opening. They are intended for vehicle owners or installers who need a clean aesthetic transition between the new receiver and the original trim. The rings are supplied new and weigh 3.00 units.

Dashboard Integration

These universal rings fit around a standard double-DIN chassis to cover gaps left by the factory radio aperture. They require a double-DIN head unit and a dashboard opening that matches the ring's outer profile for proper alignment. The trim pieces free the installer from fabricating custom brackets or filler panels for a professional look.

Fitment Headroom

The rings accommodate the standard double-DIN form factor, allowing the head unit to sit flush with the surrounding dashboard surface. They do not adapt single-DIN openings or non-standard cavity shapes, so vehicles with irregular dash geometries will need a vehicle-specific kit instead. First listed by the manufacturer in 2020.

Questions about this item

How well does the 3.00-weight plastic hold its shape after months of dashboard vibration?

The 3.00-weight rings are moulded to resist warping under normal cabin temperatures and road vibration.

Do the rings rattle or transmit heat from the head unit during long drives?

The snug universal fit and lightweight construction minimise rattling and do not conduct noticeable heat from the radio.

Which mounting hardware do I already need to bolt a double-DIN radio into these rings?

You must supply the radio's own ISO brackets and screws; the rings provide only the dash opening surround.
