What the kit includes

The Metra XD-40168C-Orange exterior care kit supplies a windshield cleaner tool with an extendable handle that adjusts from 20.8 to 29.9 inches. A 360° rotating head covers angles that fixed 180° brushes cannot reach. Four reusable microfiber pads attach by Velcro for wet or dry use, and a safety hammer is integrated into the handle.

Who this suits and who it does not

Drivers of SUVs, trucks or RVs who need to clean deep across large, slanted glass without stretching will benefit from the extra reach and swivel head. The secure Velcro pads make pad changes quick for wet cleaning or dry polishing. Buyers who want a compact tool for small cabin storage or who prefer a traditional fixed-angle brush should look at something else.

The specification that decides fit

The handle extends between 20.8 and 29.9 inches, so the kit fits vehicles where that reach covers the full windshield from the driver seat. If your glass requires a longer or shorter fixed length, this adjustable range will not match the job.

Questions about this item

How do I choose between the wet and dry microfiber pads included in the kit?

The four Velcro-backed pads swap in seconds; use a damp pad with the stainless-steel spray bottle for deep cleaning oil film or haze, then switch to a dry pad for a streak-free polish finish.

What does the 360° rotating head actually change when I am cleaning a slanted windshield?

Unlike a fixed 180° brush, the full-swivel panel follows natural hand motion so you can glide behind mirrors and into tight corners without twisting your wrist or stretching awkwardly.

How far does the extendable handle reach and what locks it in place?

The aluminium pole telescopes from 20.8" to 29.9"; twist the collar to extend, then twist back to lock the length securely while you clean SUV or truck glass.
