Connects a PC serial port to an external modem with a fully moulded 10 ft cable and thumbscrew hoods
This 10 ft serial cable connects a PC computer to an external modem using a DB9 female connector on one end and a DB25 male connector on the other. The fully moulded construction with slotted thumbscrews provides secure, long lasting data integrity across modem baud rates. It is suited for legacy serial communication setups in industrial or office environments.
The cable replaces damaged or lost AT modem cables that carry serial signals between a DB9 port and a DB25 modem interface. The jump is worth it when an existing lead shows intermittent connectivity, broken thumbscrews or insulation wear that corrupts data at higher baud rates. It restores a reliable physical link without changing the serial protocol or port configuration.
The assembly requires a free 9 pin DB9 serial port on the host system and a 25 pin DB25 serial port on the external modem. The 10 ft length frees placement options for the modem relative to the computer while the moulded hoods and easy grip thumbscrews simplify installation in tight rack or desk spaces. No additional adapters or drivers are needed for the serial connection.

The fully moulded hoods have long, easy-grip slotted thumbscrews; allow enough depth for the hood body plus the screw length so the cable seats without strain.
Attach the DB9 female end to the computer's 9-pin serial port and tighten the thumbscrews, then connect the DB25 male end to the modem and secure its thumbscrews.
Replace the cable if the moulded hoods crack, the thumbscrews strip, pins bend or corrosion appears, or if data errors persist after reseating both ends.
