Compact 12.4-inch touchscreen laptop for mobile

The Surface Laptop Go THJ-00001 pairs a 12.4-inch PixelSense display with a 3:2 aspect ratio and 10-point multi-touch support. An Intel Core i5-1035G1 quad-core processor reaches 3.60 GHz turbo frequency alongside 8 GB of LPDDR4X memory and a 256 GB SSD. Windows 10 in S mode ships pre-installed with a path to Windows 11.

Upgrade from slower storage

Moving from a hard-drive-based system or a device capped at 4 GB of RAM delivers noticeable responsiveness gains for web browsing, document editing and video calls. The jump is worth it when daily workflows involve multiple browser tabs, Office apps and cloud sync running simultaneously on a lightweight chassis.

Simple setup with fingerprint sign-in and minimal

Power on, connect to Wi-Fi 6 and log in through the fingerprint reader integrated in the power button for Windows Hello authentication. The port selection covers one USB-C, one USB-A, a Surface Connect port and a 3.5 mm headphone jack; users needing additional video outputs or legacy connectors will require adapters.

Questions about this item

What physical space does the 12.4 inch 3:2 display need on a desk or in a bag?

The 12.4 inch screen with a 3:2 aspect ratio fits a compact footprint similar to A5 paper, so it slides into small sleeves and leaves room for a mouse on a standard desk.

How is the 39 W power supply connected, and what step do people miss?

Plug the barrel connector into the Surface Connect port on the right side; the step often missed is seating the magnetic connector fully until the LED lights, otherwise the battery will not charge.

When will the 256 GB SSD or 8 GB LPDDR4X memory need replacement?

The SSD and memory are soldered and not user-replaceable; plan to replace the whole laptop if storage fills or a memory fault occurs, typically after several years of normal use.
