Compact 12.4" Windows laptop

The Microsoft Surface Laptop Go THH-00001 is a 12.4 inch notebook powered by an Intel Core i5-1035G1 quad-core processor with 6 MB L3 cache and a maximum turbo frequency of 3.60 GHz. It ships with 8 GB of LPDDR4X memory and a 128 GB SSD running Windows 10 in S mode. The 3:2 aspect ratio display offers 1536 x 1024 resolution at 148 PPI with 10-point multi-touch support.

Students and mobile professionals seeking light

This device suits users who value a compact 3:2 screen for document work and web browsing, backed by Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity. It includes a fingerprint reader integrated into the power button for Windows Hello sign-in, dual far-field Studio Mics and Omnisonic speakers with Dolby Audio. Buyers who need more than 128 GB of internal storage or require discrete graphics performance for intensive creative workloads should consider other options.

128 GB soldered SSD capacity

The single specification that determines suitability is the fixed 128 GB solid-state drive, which cannot be upgraded after purchase. Users with large local media libraries, extensive software suites or offline project files will reach this limit quickly. The 8 GB LPDDR4X memory is also soldered, so total system capacity is set at the point of sale.

Questions about this item

Should I pick the 8 GB LPDDR4X and 128 GB SSD configuration or look for a larger option?

This model comes with 8 GB LPDDR4X memory and a 128 GB SSD; both are soldered and cannot be upgraded later, so choose a higher-capacity SKU if you need more space or RAM.

What does the 3.60 GHz turbo frequency mean for everyday workloads?

The quad-core i5-1035G1 can boost up to 3.60 GHz for short bursts, speeding up web browsing, Office apps and light photo editing before returning to lower clocks to manage heat.

What can the single USB-C port actually do — does it charge the laptop or drive a monitor?

The USB-C port supports data and video output, but charging is handled by the 39 W Surface Connect supply; use a USB-C hub or adapter for external displays and peripherals.
