3-Inch Class 125 Flanged Gate Valve
This Milwaukee Valve 2885-M gate valve controls flow of gas, oil or water in piping systems. The body and bonnet are cast iron with a bolted bonnet design. A brass outside screw and yoke stem operates a solid cast iron wedge against bronze seats and seals. A wheel handle provides manual operation.
ANSI Class 125 Flange Rating
The valve carries a Class 125 flange rating with a maximum operating pressure of 200 psi for water, oil or gas and 125 psi for steam service. The flow coefficient (Cv) is 510, indicating the volume capacity through the 3-inch nominal bore. These pressure limits determine whether the valve suits a given system.
Suited for Low-Pressure Industrial Lines
Installers needing a flanged cast iron gate valve for water, oil or gas at or below 200 psi will find this model appropriate. It is not for systems exceeding the Class 125 pressure rating or for applications requiring a different flange class, a non-rising stem, or a valve material other than cast iron with bronze trim.

Questions about this item
What does the 510 Cv figure mean for flow through a 3-inch line?
The 510 coefficient of volume indicates that 510 US gallons per minute of water will pass through the fully open valve with a 1 psi pressure drop across the 3-inch port.
How does the Class 125 flange rating limit the pressure I can apply?
The ANSI Class 125 flange caps cold non-shock working pressure at 200 psi and saturated steam service at 125 psi for this cast-iron body.
What bolt pattern and gasket surface does the 3-inch flange need to mate with?
The valve uses a standard ANSI Class 125 3-inch flange drilling with a flat-face gasket surface; mating flanges must match the same bolt circle and face type.
