Purpose and User

These 5-inch P80 grit Abranet discs come in a 10-piece pack for vacuum-assisted sanding tasks. The aluminum oxide grain on nylon backing is designed for dust-controlled finishing on paint, primer, composites and similar surfaces. Professional bodyshops and woodworkers who run a dust extraction system will see longer disc life and a cleaner work area.

Setup Requirements

Your sander must accept 5-inch hook-and-loop discs and be connected to a vacuum source for the mesh structure to evacuate dust effectively. A compatible backup pad is required; the supplier notes protector pads 9955RP or 9956RP between the disc and backup pad to extend pad life. Without vacuum assist the discs will not deliver the stated dust-free performance.

Accessory Impact

Adding protector pads 9955RP or 9956RP shields the backup pad from wear and reduces replacement frequency. Interface pads 9155RP or 9166RP soften the contact surface so the abrasive conforms to contours and rounded profiles without cutting through edges. Both accessories are optional but directly affect pad longevity and finish quality on shaped panels.
