Mitel 6940W Cordless SIP Phone

Desk phone for SIP environments

The Mitel 6940W is a cordless SIP telephone designed for office workers who need mobility around a desk or small meeting area. It connects to IP-PBX systems using wired Ethernet or the built-in Wi-Fi radio and includes a USB port that can charge a mobile handset while the user stays on a call. The 7-inch colour LCD gives clear access to line keys, directories and call logs without a tethered handset.

Thermals noise and power

The handset and base station run silently with no moving parts, so background noise stays at office-ambient levels during calls. Power is drawn from the Ethernet link via PoE or from the supplied adapter, keeping cabling simple and heat output negligible in normal use. The 1.5 kilogram base remains cool to the touch even after extended talk time.

Build integration and constraints

A single Ethernet drop or reachable Wi-Fi signal is all the infrastructure the phone requires, freeing desk space that a traditional wired handset and separate charger would occupy. The USB charging port removes the need for an extra wall wart for a personal mobile, and the cordless earpiece lets the user step away from the desk without dropping the call. Buyers who need DECT multi-cell roaming or analogue line ports should look elsewhere.
