Mobile broadband antenna for vehicles

This low-profile magnetic-mount antenna covers 694-894 MHz and 1700-2700 MHz with 3 dBi gain. It supports 700 MHz, cellular 850 MHz, AWS and 2.4 GHz WiFi bands. The rugged radome suits vehicle roofs and public enclosures where anti-vandalism construction matters.

Requires a metal ground plane

Performance depends on a conductive mounting surface such as a vehicle roof. The magnetic base holds the antenna in place but does not supply the ground plane itself. Without adequate metal beneath the base, signal strength and bandwidth will fall short of the stated specifications.

Check connector and cable routing before ordering

The antenna terminates in an SMA-Male plug after a 10 ft RG-58 run. Verify that your radio or modem accepts SMA-Male and that the cable length reaches the equipment without strain. Ensure the mounting location provides both a metal ground plane and clearance for the low-profile housing.

Questions about this item

Should I choose the single 10 ft RG-58 cable with SMA-Male connector or look for a different cable length?

This model ships with a fixed 10 ft RG-58 cable terminated in an SMA-Male plug; no alternative lengths or connector types are offered for this part number.

What does the 3 dBi gain figure mean once the antenna is mounted on a vehicle?

The 3 dBi gain applies across the 694-894 MHz and 1700-2700 MHz bands when the antenna has a proper ground plane; without one the effective gain will be lower.

The SMA-Male connector — does it limit the antenna to a specific radio or modem interface?

The SMA-Male plug is a standard coaxial interface; it mates with any device that has an SMA-Female jack, so the antenna works with 700 MHz, 850 MHz cellular, AWS, 2.4 GHz WiFi and WiMAX radios alike.
