35 ft CL2 coaxial cable

The Monoprice 103976 is a 35 foot coaxial cable built to the CL2 fire-safety rating for in-wall installation. It carries composite video, S/PDIF digital audio or subwoofer signals between source components and displays or receivers. Gold-plated RCA connectors on each end resist corrosion and maintain a low-resistance contact path. The 75 ohm characteristic impedance matches standard consumer video and digital audio interfaces.

Thermals noise and power

As a passive copper cable it generates no heat, draws no power and produces no audible noise during operation. The solid copper conductor and braided shield preserve signal integrity over the full 35 foot run without active amplification. PVC jacket material protects the internal conductors from physical stress while remaining flexible enough for routing through stud bays or cable trays. No external power supply or driver software is required for any supported application.

Build quality and daily use

Heavy-duty construction with gold-plated RCA plugs withstands repeated connect and disconnect cycles in home-theatre or professional AV racks. The three-connector bundle allows stereo audio plus composite video or dual subwoofer feeds in a single pull. CL2 rating means the jacket meets UL flame-spread requirements for residential in-wall runs without conduit. Black PVC sheathing blends discreetly against baseboards or behind equipment cabinets.

Questions about this item

How do I route the 35-foot CL2-rated coaxial cable through a wall cavity?

Pull the cable through the stud bay, keep bends wider than a fist, and secure it with low-voltage staples every four feet so the PVC jacket is not crushed.

When should I replace the gold-plated RCA connectors?

Replace them if the centre pin feels loose, the barrel corrodes, or the shield braid frays where the moulded boot meets the cable.

At what length does the 75-ohm RG6/U cable start to attenuate a subwoofer signal noticeably?

At 35 feet the RG6/U construction keeps loss low for typical subwoofer frequencies; longer runs would be the first limit under sustained use.
