Monoprice 116049 60GHz Wireless HDMI Extender

The Monoprice 116049 Blackbird Pro extends HDMI signals wirelessly over a 60GHz link up to 30 meters. It delivers uncompressed video up to 1920x1080p at 60Hz or 4K at 30Hz with near-zero latency. The kit is aimed at installers and home users who need a clean cable run without long copper cables.

Suits rooms where cables cannot reach.

This extender fits setups where the display sits up to 98 feet from the source and mains power is available for the USB-powered units. It supports 7.1-channel lossless audio including Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio. Buyers needing 4K at 60Hz or HDR metadata pass-through should look at a different solution.

USB power simplifies placement behind displays

Each unit draws power from a standard USB port on a TV, media player or wall charger, so no proprietary adapters are required. The link complies with HDMI 1.4b, HDCP 2.2 and WiHD 1.1, and passes CEC commands for unified remote control. Ensure a clear line of sight for the 60GHz signal to maintain the full 30-meter range.

Questions about this item

What HDMI source and display do I need to use the 116049 extender?

You need an HDMI source such as a Blu-ray player, game console or PC and an HDMI display such as a TV or projector, both with standard HDMI ports.

Will the 116049 work with my older 1080p TV and 4K source?

Yes, it supports 1080p at 60 Hz and 4K at 30 Hz, so a 1080p display will receive a compatible signal from a 4K source.

How can I verify the 116049 is transmitting uncompressed video after setup?

Play 1080p 60 Hz or 4K 30 Hz content and confirm the picture shows no compression artefacts and audio plays in 7.1‑channel lossless formats.
