Precision 75 ohm BNC cable for HD-SDI workflows

The Monoprice 116186 Viper Series cable carries 3 Gbps HD-SDI video over a 25 foot RG6 coaxial run. True 75 ohm BNC male connectors on both ends mate with professional broadcast gear, production trucks and facility patch panels. An 18 AWG pure copper centre conductor and dual copper-aluminium shielding preserve signal integrity across the 7.62 metre length.

Verify connector gender

Both terminations are BNC male, so the destination ports must accept male plugs. The cable is rated for 3 Gbps HD-SDI bandwidth; confirm your source and sink equipment operate at this serial digital standard rather than analogue composite or lower-rate SDI. Ensure the 25 foot reach matches the rack-to-rack or camera-to-recorder distance in your install.

Dual braid shielding resists EMI in dense racks

The combined copper and aluminium braid suppresses electromagnetic interference from adjacent power or data cables, freeing the installer from extra conduit or ferrite chokes. Flexible RG6 construction eases pulls through cable trays and tight bends behind patch bays. The 75 ohm characteristic impedance maintains return-loss performance across the full 3 Gbps path without external equalisation.

Questions about this item

What comes in the box with the Monoprice 116186 BNC cable and do I need anything else?

The box contains one 25‑foot BNC male‑to‑male cable with 18AWG pure copper conductor and dual copper‑aluminium shielding. No extra connectors or tools are required for a standard BNC‑to‑BNC link.

How do I decide between the Viper Series RG6 cable and other lengths or gauges?

Choose this 7.62‑metre, 18AWG, 75 ohm RG6 cable when you need a flexible, dual‑shielded run up to 25 feet for HD‑SDI video; shorter or longer runs would need a different length, while thinner gauges would increase loss.

What does the 3Gbps bandwidth rating mean when the cable is installed in a broadcast chain?

The true 75 ohm BNC connectors and 18AWG copper core are rated to pass 3Gbps serial digital video, so a 25‑foot run will carry 3G‑SDI signals such as 1080p HD‑SDI without equalisation.
