Direct-Burial Speaker Cable 14AWG 250ft

This 14AWG two-conductor speaker wire is built for direct-burial and outdoor installations. A moisture-resistant polyethylene jacket with water-blocking tape protects the 100 percent oxygen-free copper conductors. The 249.94 ft spool in gray suits commercial and residential audio runs where cable lies underground.

Suitable For Underground Audio Runs

Installers running speaker lines beneath soil, pavers or mulch will find the burial-rated jacket and water-blocking tape essential. The pure copper cores keep resistance low over long distances. This wire is not for buyers who need four conductors to feed a pair of speakers from a single pull, nor for indoor-only jobs that require a CL2 or CL3 fire-safety rating.

14AWG Two-Conductor Burial Rating

The single specification that decides fit is the 14AWG two-conductor construction with a direct-burial polyethylene jacket. It delivers low-loss signal transfer for one speaker per run and survives ground moisture without conduit. Verify conductor count and gauge against your amplifier and speaker layout before ordering.

Questions about this item

Should I pick the two-conductor or four-conductor version of this 14AWG wire?

The two-conductor version connects a single speaker, while the four-conductor option runs two speakers from one cable.

What does the 14AWG rating mean once the wire is installed?

14AWG indicates the copper thickness; it handles typical home-theatre runs up to about 50 feet with minimal signal loss.

Is this wire rated for direct burial and what does that cap in practice?

The polyethylene jacket and water-blocking tape are rated for direct burial, so the cable resists moisture and soil contact without conduit.
