Slim in-ceiling stereo pair

The Monoprice 134706 Caliber Slim Series delivers a 6.5 inch two-way speaker pair designed for flush ceiling mounting in home or office spaces. Aramid fibre woofers and pivoting titanium silk dome tweeters provide detailed vocals and defined dialog. The refined slim bezel blends into modern interiors and can be painted to match any ceiling finish. Compatibility with existing Caliber rough-in brackets and back cans simplifies new or retrofit installations.

Sustained listening clarity

Aramid fibre cones remain light and rigid during extended playback, keeping bass reproduction clean and accurate without the distortion that heavier conventional drivers can introduce over long sessions. Titanium silk tweeters maintain warm, airy projection and consistent high-frequency detail when the system runs for hours. The pivoting dome lets installers aim the tweeter toward the primary listening area, preserving tonal balance across the room even at moderate volume levels maintained for movies or background music.

Wiring and accessory limits

Passive speaker terminals accept standard speaker cable; no proprietary connectors or active electronics are included. The speakers rely on an external amplifier or receiver for power, so cable gauge and run length must suit that amplifier’s requirements. Existing Caliber rough-in brackets, ABS back cans and installation kits remain compatible, but no new mounting hardware or enclosure specifications are introduced with this Slim Line update. Buyers needing powered or wireless ceiling speakers will need a different product type.

Questions about this item

How much power do the 134706 speakers draw when running all day?

In-ceiling passive speakers like these draw no power themselves; the amplifier you connect supplies the wattage, so daily heat and electricity use depend entirely on that amp.

What amplifier or receiver do I need to drive the 6.5 inch Caliber Slim pair?

You need a stereo amp or AV receiver with speaker-level outputs rated for 8-ohm loads; the speakers have binding-post terminals and ship as a pair, so two channels are required.

Will the 134706 units match the sound of my original 2008 Caliber speakers?

The Slim Line uses the same aramid-fiber woofers and titanium-silk tweeters, so tonal balance stays consistent with the classic Caliber models you already own.
