20 ft Cat6 PoE patch cable

This 20-foot Cat6 patch cable carries both data and Power over Ethernet so devices such as wireless access points and surveillance cameras can operate without a local mains outlet. The solid 24 AWG conductors are 100% bare copper and meet UL 444 and TIA-568-C.2 fire and safety requirements. Each twisted pair is foil shielded in a U/FTP construction rated to 550 MHz bandwidth. The cable jacket is rated for 600 V.

Shielded U/FTP design for noisy environments

Foil shielding around every pair rejects electromagnetic and radio-frequency interference that would otherwise degrade throughput on long runs or near electrical equipment. The PoE capability frees installers from running separate low-voltage power cables to each endpoint device. Standard RJ45 connectors on both ends plug directly into switches, routers or PoE injectors without adapters.

Upgrade from unshielded Cat5e or non-PoE Cat6

Builders replacing unshielded Cat5e links gain higher bandwidth headroom and PoE support in a single pull. The jump is worth it when cable routes pass fluorescent lighting, motor loads or parallel power circuits that induce noise on unshielded pairs. It is not for installers who need outdoor burial ratings or lengths beyond the supplied 20 ft.
