Versatile Mounting & Application

The Monoprice 141843 pendant speaker pair suits residential and commercial audio installations. Each unit can be suspended from a ceiling, wall-mounted, or placed on a floor stand. The IP66-rated enclosure resists dust and water, making the speakers appropriate for high-humidity spaces such as bathrooms and outdoor patios.

Transformer Taps & Power Handling

Four 70V and four 100V transformer taps plus NC and 8-ohm options replace fixed-impedance or single-voltage models. The 40-watt maximum RMS power capacity per speaker in an 8-speaker system supports distributed audio lines without requiring a separate amplifier channel for every unit. The jump is worthwhile when you need flexible voltage matching across a multi-zone installation.

Wiring & Mounting Check

Verify that your amplifier or distribution line delivers 70V, 100V, or 8-ohm output compatible with the selected tap. Confirm the mounting surface can support the speaker weight and that the chosen suspension or bracket hardware suits the installation location. Ensure the IP66 rating matches the environmental exposure of the intended area.

Questions about this item

What ceiling height or mounting hardware does the 6.5in pendant speaker pair require?

Each speaker hangs from a ceiling or mounts to a wall using its built-in hardware; the IP66 enclosure suits high-humidity bathrooms and outdoor patios.

How do I wire the 141843 speakers for a 70V or 100V line and what step is often missed?

Select one of the four 70V or four 100V transformer taps, or the 8-ohm NC tap, and confirm the tap setting before securing the cable.

When will the polypropylene woofer or silk dome tweeter need replacement in this IP66 pair?

The sealed IP66 cabinet protects both drivers from dust and water jets, so no scheduled driver replacement is required under normal use.
