Monoprice DT-3BT 50-Watt Desktop Speakers

The Monoprice DT-3BT is a pair of powered multimedia speakers built for near-field listening at a desk. They deliver 50 watts of total Class AB amplification through dedicated amplifiers for each driver. The system uses 3.5" polypropylene woofers and 0.75" silk dome tweeters. Bluetooth connectivity is built in for wireless streaming from phones or computers.

Wired and wireless inputs for flexible placement

A front-panel 3.5 mm TRS jack provides quick access for portable devices. The rear panel offers unbalanced stereo RCA inputs for consumer gear and balanced 1/4" stereo inputs for professional audio sources. Because amplification is internal, no separate receiver or amplifier is required. The compact cabinets fit on typical desktops without dominating the workspace.

Suited for desktop users who want multiple input

Buyers who need a simple powered speaker pair with both Bluetooth and professional balanced connections will find this model practical. Those who require a subwoofer output, digital optical input, or higher output power for larger rooms should look at other systems.

Questions about this item

At what output level do the 40-watt Class AB amplifiers reach their limit during long listening sessions?

The 40 watts of Class AB amplification drives each 3.5" woofer and 0.75" tweeter with a dedicated amp, so sustained high-volume playback stays clean until the amplifiers hit their 40-watt ceiling.

How much heat or fan noise do the built-in amplifiers produce when the speakers run all day?

Class AB designs run warmer than Class D, but the cabinets are vented and have no internal fan, so you hear only the music — no mechanical noise — even after hours of continuous use.

Which source devices can I connect directly without buying extra cables or adapters?

You can plug in any device with a 3.5 mm headphone jack, stereo RCA outputs, or balanced 1/4" outputs; Bluetooth lets you stream wirelessly from phones, tablets or computers.
