2 ft Cat8 S/FTP Patch Cable

This Monoprice 145413 cable delivers up to 40Gbps transfer speeds and 2GHz bandwidth over a 2 ft length. It uses 28AWG pure bare copper conductors with double S/FTP shielding and snagless RJ45 boots. The construction meets UL 444 and TIA568C.2 fire and safety standards for communications cabling.

Suited for short high-speed links; not for long runs

The 2 ft length fits rack-to-panel or switch-to-server connections inside a cabinet. Buyers who need longer horizontal runs or in-wall installations should choose a different length. The cable is rated for indoor patching only and is not designated for outdoor or plenum use.

2GHz bandwidth and 40Gbps rating

The headline specification is the 2GHz bandwidth supporting up to 40Gbps data transfer over standard RJ45 connectors. This determines whether the cable matches the performance tier required by the connected equipment.

Questions about this item

Which length should I pick for a short rack patch between two switches?

Choose the 2 ft version when the devices are close together; longer options up to 30 ft are available if you need more reach.

What does the 40Gbps rating mean for my 10GbE server link?

The cable supports up to 40 Gbps, so a 10 GbE connection will run at full line rate without the cable being the bottleneck.

How does the 2 GHz bandwidth and S/FTP shielding affect real-world performance?

The 2 GHz bandwidth and double shielding keep crosstalk low, letting the cable sustain its rated 40 Gbps over the full 2 ft length.
