4K 4x1 HDMI Switch with Audio Extraction

The Monoprice Blackbird 130919 routes four HDMI sources to one display. It handles video up to 4K at 60 Hz with YCbCr 4:4:4 chroma sampling. The unit complies with HDMI 2.0b and HDCP 2.2 for protected content. An 18 Gbps bandwidth ceiling supports high-frame-rate signals such as 1080p at 120 Hz.

Built-in retimer and analog audio output

A retiming circuit and cable driver clean the signal for longer cable runs. The switch extracts two-channel analog audio from the HDMI stream for powered speakers or an external amplifier. High Bit Rate audio passes through to the display unchanged. Ten-bit HDR video is supported for wider colour volume.

Suits multi-source 4K setups needing analog audio

Ideal for users with several 4K sources and a single display who also require a stereo analogue feed. Not suited for installations that need more than four inputs or multichannel analogue extraction. Buyers requiring HDMI 2.1 features such as 4K at 120 Hz should look elsewhere.

Questions about this item

Will the HDMI ports or the 18 Gbps retiming circuit need replacement after heavy daily use?

The 130919 is a solid-state switch with no moving parts; the HDMI inputs and the retiming driver are rated for continuous operation and do not have a scheduled replacement interval.

What is the first limit reached when streaming 4K 60 Hz HDR content for hours?

The 18 Gbps bandwidth ceiling is the hard limit; sustained 4K@60Hz YCbCr 4:4:4 HDR fits within it, so the switch will not throttle or drop frames.

Does the unit generate audible fan noise or noticeable heat when powered all day?

There is no fan; the aluminium chassis passively dissipates the low power draw, so the switch runs silent and only warm to the touch.
