Monoprice Inc. 113709 Speaker Wire 12AWG 2-Conductor CMP 250ft Black

In-wall rated speaker cable

Monoprice 113709 is a CMP plenum rated speaker wire built for installation inside walls and air spaces of residential or commercial buildings. The two conductor design uses 12AWG oxygen free bare copper for accurate signal transfer. A 250 foot pull box suits whole home or multi zone audio projects. The black jacket is softer and more flexible than traditional plenum cables for easier routing.

Thermals noise and power

As a passive copper cable the product generates no heat and adds no audible noise to the signal path. Power handling is determined by the connected amplifier and speaker impedance rather than the wire itself. The plenum jacket resists flame spread and meets fire safety codes for duct and airspace use. No active cooling or power supply is required.

Replaces standard non rated wire

This cable replaces ordinary speaker wire when building codes or insurance require a plenum rating for in wall or ceiling runs. It is not suited for buyers who need a four conductor version for bi wiring or for connecting speaker pairs from a single pull. The jump is worth it whenever fire rated cable is mandated or when oxygen free copper clarity is preferred over basic stranded wire.
