Speaker wire with banana plugs

Monoprice 134304 is a 14AWG speaker wire pair finished with gold-plated banana plugs at both ends. The two tinned, oxygen-free copper conductors are colour-coded for quick polarity matching. A soft-touch braided fabric jacket protects speaker cabinets from scratches while staying flexible. The cable suits stereo or home-theatre setups that need a ready-to-use connection.

Length limits placement options

At 0.9144 metres the cable reaches only short runs between amplifier and speakers. Longer distances need a different length or an extension. The fixed banana plugs cannot be removed for binding-post or bare-wire connections. Installers requiring in-wall rating or thicker gauge for lower resistance over distance must choose another product.

14AWG gauge sets power handling

The 14AWG conductors determine how much amplifier current the wire carries without audible loss. Systems driving high-power speakers or very long runs may need thicker wire. Buyers who need a heavier gauge for lower resistance cannot use this cable.

Questions about this item

Which length of this 14AWG braided speaker wire should I choose for my setup?

The wire is 0.9144 metres long, which is about three feet, so it works best when the amplifier and speakers are close together.

What does the 14AWG rating mean for actual speaker connections?

14AWG copper conductors carry plenty of current for typical home-audio runs at this length, keeping resistance low enough not to affect sound quality.

How do the banana plugs connect, and what do they limit?

Each end has colour-coded, gold-plated banana plugs that fit standard binding posts, so they only work with equipment that accepts banana-style terminals.
